I was first introduced to yoga by a friend. My friend thought I should do a more ‘girly’ exercise, as at the time I was doing a lot of weight training and kick boxing. Since this journey I have not looked back since. I continue to practice regularly at Power Living. Since the very first yoga class with Kristi I fell in love. I have since attended many retreats including 200 hr teacher training, workshops, 40 day challenges and Modern Yogi Projects. Since completing my 200hr I have continued on with my teacher journey completing Advanced Assisting, 2 x Yin yoga training & Advanced Vinyasa Training. I am currently completing pre and postnatal yoga training. My passion is to help others to find balance and calm in their life. I love to teach yin but I do like to balance it with vinyasa at times. I am still finding my wings but I endeavour to provide my students with a safe, comfortable and supported practice to allow everyday people to reap the benefits of yoga and what it has to offer.

What does the term modern yogi mean to you?
There is no textbook defined definition of modern yogi. As the term suggests it’s current what we and the world have now to offer. Yoga means union. Modern yogi is the union of the current era and those within it. It consists of us all from those who practice one form of yoga or those who practice many styles. The modern yogi does necessarily sit and meditate at home. The modern yogi is out in the world making a difference-sharing their love and passion for yoga with all.
