I dabbled in yoga for years but only came to it consistently after I had knee surgery and thought it would be great as part of my rehab. I was blown away by my first class; not just the physical aspect of it but the mental space and peace I found. I kept coming back and it wasn’t long before I found that the benefits were not limited to my classes. I was better able to manage my stress; I was less reactive; I was sleeping better; and best of all I stopped punishing myself.
Through yoga I have found some peace and learned to live in the moment and be ok with wherever I am because wherever that is, it’s where I’m meant to be.
What do you value most in others? Why?
Authenticity because anything less than that is cheating everyone, especially yourself and the ability to be a little bit silly because life is too short to be serious all the time.
If you could share a meal and a conversation with anyone, dead or alive, who would that be?
My partner Steve. He is my best friend; my inspiration; my confidant; my sounding board; and my biggest supporter.
How would you describe your classes?
A happy balance between a challenging and dynamic flow with elements of cardio; strength; flexibility; and a smattering of philosophy.
