Stepping into the Power Living Manly studio in 2010, I discovered a challenging and energetic practice as well as a fun and welcoming community, which helped me deal with the stress of a highly demanding job in Advertising and Media.
I found that the practice of yoga allowed me to work on my physical and mental wellbeing, through building inner and outer strength to help me deal with all aspects of my life.
My passion for yoga continued to grow and in 2013, I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training with Power Living. Since then, I have completed my 500 hour teacher training pathway with Power Living. I also trained with Baron Baptiste in 2014 and then again 2015, with training scheduled in 2017 with Maty Ezraty.
What is your favourite Asana posture? Why?
Frog pose – this is the first pose that I remember really being challenged in when I first started yoga. It brings up so many emotions for me, now I can go into the pose and actually enjoy it, but I will always remember that first experience.
What profession other than yours would you like to attempt?
I’m an animal lover and when I was younger, I wanted to be a zoo keeper. Now I’m more into the conservation and protection of animals, so it would have to be something to do with educating people on preserving our environment and its species.
How would you describe your classes?
From my corporate life, I understand the physical stresses modern day life has on the human body, and therefore my classes are a combination of strength building, focusing on bringing our bodies back into balance as well as releasing both physically and mentally. My classes are delivered in a challenging but light-hearted way, stimulating deeper self inquiry and transformation.
