I did my 200 hour teacher training with Being Yoga on the Sunshine Coast. I have been teaching for three and a half years, in my own space twice per week and at a local Snap gym twice per week. I would dearly love to teach more but alas – I am also a business women who owns and operates a motel amongst other things! In central Queensland we have just come through a four year “down turn” in the economy and we have had to work to survive, doing perhaps not what we truly want to do. I teach a beautiful balanced vinyasa flow where we truly move to the breathe, a moving meditation for mind, body and soul. For me yoga is about how you feel when you leave the class rather than who can do the trickiest asana. This year I joined Duncan and completed Power Living’s Yin Yoga Level 1 in Byron Bay. I hold my Yin classes every second Sunday. I love Yin Yoga and aim to complete my Level 2 certification in 2018
What is your favourite Asana posture? Why?
Virabhadrasana Two (Warrior Two). I love this asasna, as I believe yoga is a metephor of how we lead our lives. This asasna is basic but strong. We can draw strength from our practice and tune into it anytime we need. Grounded, strong, steady, calm and focused. This asana build stamina, determination and willpower.
What profession other than yours would you like to attempt?
I would love to truly dedicate my life to yoga, rather than having to work in my business and have yoga as my hobby.
If you could share a meal and a conversation with anyone, dead or alive, who would that be?
My father who passed away last year. I would dearly love to see him again; have a chat, catch up. I miss him.
