Movement, Mantra, Music – A retreat to cultivate your spirit
2019 promised to be one for the books – but has it been? Maybe more than ever, you need to spend some time at the tranquil Govinda Valley Retreat Centre, where you can go to unwind and escape at the first ever Movement, Mantra and Music Retreat with Adam Whiting.
This new year seemed to promise so much. For a lot of us, in some ways, we are still waiting for it to kick in. It’s already March and it feels like most of us already need a chance to come up for air.
Playfully coined Movement, Mantra and Music, you’ll spend the long weekend with likeminded people coming together to move, practice yoga, meditate and join in spirited kirtans and soft serenades in savasana. This is your chance to breathe, reset and realign.
Remember Adam Whiting? You know, that handsome, yoga-world-famous down-to-earth guy who used to playfully run around our studios, teaching with ease and laughter? That one. He’s back! But not for long. He’s coming to be with the Power Living Sydney tribe to host this one long weekend retreat and you don’t want to miss out.
What you can expect on retreat (Thursday 21 March – Sunday 24 March 2019)
- Twice daily yoga classes of both vinyasa and yin
- Daily meditation
- Evening kirtan concerts
Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?
What people are saying:
Facebook Testimonial for Adam, “Adam is a brilliant sequencer, and his teachings of technique are spot on. Yoga teachers are a dime a dozen, but Adam rises above. Passionate, inspiring, and knowledgeable are only three of his strengths. If you have an opportunity to join him on the mat you should.”
Jackielyn Powell said, “A special space to learn, unfold and rest. The food here is absolutely divine and made with nurturing love and care. The grounds and accommodation are also a lovely experience too. Thank you for having me.”
Trudy Mullally said, “Stunning grounded environment right in the middle of Australia’s oldest national park at Otford NSW. Supported by fabulous vegetarian meals. Amazing staff looking after the guests. Wonderful experience, a must go to place. Try stay a week you will come away bright, fresh and full.”
You can easily access the retreat via train or car. A train from the CBD to Otford takes approximately 75 minutes and is a direct line. By car, the drive is scenic and only takes 70 minutes from Sydney CBD and a 50 minute drive from Sydney airport. If using a GPS, type “Govinda Valley Retreat” into the app, not the Govinda Valley address (51 Lady Carrington Road, Otford).
More about Adam
One of the first things that people recognise of Adam Whiting is his laugh. Students say that they can hear it rolling down the street as they approach the studio to practice one of his classes. His smile is generous and immediate and his passion for yoga is contagious. Adam leads classes, workshops and trainings that are full of anatomical precision, intelligent sequencing, and potent philosophy. He has practiced and trained in various styles of yoga, including Tantra, Ashtanga, Anusara and Vinyasa. His musical training is integrated throughout his teachings in spirited kirtans and soft serenades in savasana.
