Spend two hours taking your backbends to a deeper level while keeping your spine happy and safe. 

Your spine is an incredible combination of strength and flexibility, providing us with structure and suppleness. Without intelligent maintenance, backbends can feel vulnerable on lots of different levels: bending back through the spine, opening up the chest, trusting your body to support your range of motion. 

In this workshop, you’ll get to grips with different alignment philosophies. You’ll also learn which muscle systems are necessary for support and how to activate them – all to keep your spine happy and safe whilst you practice. 

From this more profound understanding of your body, we’ll play with new backbends. Allow yourself to ‘deepen’ your poses from an informed and supported place. 

A fun, and smart workshop that celebrates the human body. Open to all levels.

Meet Duncan


Duncan has been teaching yoga for 11 years, with more than 10,000 hours in the classroom across Canada, USA, Mexico, Costa Rica, Europe and Indonesia. He’s been training teachers internationally for the last six years having created his own programs and intensives before joining Power Living. Duncan is also a dedicated student and E-RYT 500 teacher having completed over 1,600 hours of training in ‘traditional’ styles of Iyengar, Ashtanga as well as more ‘modern’ forms such as Anusara, Vinyasa, Hatha, SmartFlow, Power and Yin. Some of his teachers include Annie Carpenter, Ron Reid, Desiree Rumbaugh, Todd Norian and Baba Hari Dass. Duncan attended university for Biomedical Science and after two years switched to Performance Dance. His education in science and love of dance and the arts inform his teachings and style. Duncan commits to a daily practice of yoga.spirited, contemporary yoga community. Completing his teacher training certification with Power Living, Sol joined the Power Living crew in 2007. He is now a senior facilitator and the Training and Development Manager for Power Living Australia.
