Awaken the Spine 

The spine is the backbone of our yoga practice.

This workshop will take you safely into the depths of back bending and shoulderstand to ensure longevity in your practice and safety on the mat. Backbending is a way to strengthen all the muscles in your back body and legs, awaken the spine and light up the nervous system with stimulation.

Shoulderstand benefits are numerous affecting almost every system in the body including the musculoskeletal, nervous, endocrine, circulatory, respiratory, and digestive systems.

  • Learn the building blocks of alignment and strength to safely practice back bending as part of Power Living’s Vinyasa flow.
  • Explore the principles of back bending in Upward Facing Dog and how you can then carry these through to more advanced variations.
  • Understand how to enter into heart opening postures with awareness.
  • Learn how to practice inversions safely and with modifications for your needs
  • Have the opportunity to ask questions and workshop special postures in an open, safe environment.
  • Suitable for all levels of practitioner. This workshop is essential for anyone within their first three months of practice. It’s also great for the experienced yogi looking for a refresher or how to take their practice to the next level.

ABOUT ERIC

Eric has a wealth of experience in bodywork and movement. Apart from being a yoga teacher, he has studied remedial massage and craniosacral therapy to try and further understand the individualistic requirements of every unique body. He has been exposed to calisthenics and acrobatic practitioners whilst Perth, giving more insight of a diversity and the spectrum of the ability of the human body. He encourages people to explore, listen and communicate with their body whilst being meticulous, precise and with an element of fun and play.
