ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Learning to balance on your hands is an art form: it requires sensitivity, strength, body awareness and just the right amount of disciplined focus balanced with a playful attitude. In this workshop, you will learn tips, tricks and techniques that will help you find and hold your handstand. We will use props, practice fun drills, and look at how your anatomy can impact your journey to balancing on your hands.
Duncan began practicing Ashtanga yoga when he was 16 years old and has been teaching Vinyasa yoga in Canada since 2007. He attended University of Guelph for Biomedical Sciences and later transferred to Ryerson University in Toronto to pursue his love of dance in their competitive BFA Performance Dance program. With a mind for science and a love for movement, Duncan teaches intelligent and alignment based vinyasa classes that are sequenced with mindful creativity.
He has facilitated several 200hr and 500hr Vinyasa YTT courses, and runs retreats and intensives internationally. He continues to train and practice under his teacher Annie Carpenter, creator of SmartFlow Yoga.
Duncan has a keen eye for detail and enjoys incorporating precise alignment in his flow classes. His classes are strong and balance rigorous discipline with lightheartedness and fun.
