We have an intricate and intelligent web of tissue that connects every part of us. In yoga, we speak to the importance of bringing our awareness to our spirit and to recognize that the flow of energy that is animating us is the same energy that is animating and connecting us to everything else. In the Ties That Bind workshop, we bring that same awareness to the web of fascia that connects, communicates, heals, protects and provides a scaffolding for every other system within our bodies to function and thrive.
We will use movement, meditation, myofascial release balls and our own hands to ensure that our fascial layers have every opportunity to function at their optimal level. Expect an all-levels active vinyasa practice interspersed with discussion and various myofascial release techniques and quiet observation so that we can notice and integrate the immediate effect that this type of practice has on our holistic wellness. Workshop can be used as Continuing Education Credits for Yoga Alliance.
What is Kirtan?
Kirtan is musical singing / chanting that is one of the 9-limbs of Bhakti Yoga. Participating in a Kirtan is said to cleanse the soul and free the heart.
One of the first things that people recognize of Adam Whiting is his laugh. Students say that they can hear it rolling down the street as they approach the studio to practice one of his classes. His smile is generous and immediate and his passion for yoga is contagious. Adam leads classes, workshops and trainings that are full of anatomical precision, intelligent sequencing, and potent philosophy. He has practiced and trained in various styles of yoga, including Tantra, Ashtanga, Anusara and Vinyasa. His musical training is integrated throughout his teachings in spirited kirtans and soft serenades in savasana.
“The practice of yoga works at a physical, mental and emotional level & may be rewarding and challenging. We invite you to take care and participate to a level that you feel most comfortable.”
