Name: Manoj Dias
Manoj Dias grew up amongst the temples and ashrams of Sri Lanka, but his yoga journey really commenced in 2007 after a sporting injury led him to seek yoga as a form of rehabilitation. Seduced by the physicality of the asana practice and the feeling of calm after class, Manoj developed an on again off again relationship to the practice, jumping on and off the mat sporadically for numerous years.
Fast-forward seven years, Manoj found himself weighed down by the rigours of a 10-year corporate career. Battling chronic bouts of illness due to serious stress and anxiety he turned to meditation and yoga as a last ditch effort to help him recover. He did. The healing properties of a consistent Yoga and Meditation practice led him to travel the world learning from may great teachers and he is now a firm believer in healing the body and mind from within through our capacity to live in awareness.
These days Manoj is one of the Lead Facilitators & Teacher Trainers at Power Living. He acknowledges with the deepest of gratitude his teachers Channa Dassanayaka, Maty Ezraty, Duncan Peak and Thich Nhat Hanh for their immense inspiration as well as all the YogaWorks and Power Living teachers who continue to share their wisdom.
Manoj aims to help others find healing through holistic practises that cultivate greater self-awareness, compassion and the ability to live freely through the heart.
When he is not on the yoga mat, you will usually find him in the garden tending to his budding plant collection, out and about sampling Melbourne’s culinary delights or trying to get his daughter to do her homework.
