Name: Ciara Fanning
Role: Neutral Bay Assistant Studio Manager & Facilitator
Ciara fell in love with yoga when she moved to Australia in 2011. Her first practice was Bikram Yoga – having left freezing cold Ireland, she couldn’t get enough of the heated room and the bliss of 90 minutes to myself every day!
Not long after, Ciara added Vinyasa flow to her practice and will never forget how challenged, inspired and in love she was after her first class. Ciara literally brought everyone she knew to try a class… She wanted everyone to experience that feeling just once –and she still gets it every time she hits the mat.
Ciara completed her 200-hour training with Power Living Perth in 2015 and loves to guide students through a strong, fluid practice with a focus on breath connection, creating space for self-inquiry and nurturing the body in the moment.
Getting to know the crew:
What is your favourite Asana posture? Why?
Urdhva Dhanurasana as I my body goes a little deeper every time I am in wheel pose and I am fascinated by how much my spine mobility has increased with constant practice.
Share with us a life turning point and the favourite lesson learnt?
I graduated with a Masters Degree in Fashion Marketing and worked as a Retail Buyer for almost five years. Moving to Sydney – I decided to leave that crazy office life behind and become fully immersed with everything yoga. SO MANY DAYS I thought, what have you done?? But the universe has a crazy way of working, and bringing amazing people and opportunities your way if you are open to them – I wouldn’t change my decision for anything.
Do you have a hidden talent we would like to know about?
I am obsessed with karaoke but can’t hold a tune to save my life. I know all the words to the Kim Carnes classic – Bette Davis Eyes and have been known to blast it out whenever handed a mic!
