Name: Blair Hughes
Role: Senior Facilitator
Blair had his first experience of yoga when he was 18 years old. He was preparing to represent Scotland in a sporting match against Ireland when the team sports psychologist walked into the changing room and prescribed strange breathing techniques followed by visualisation techniques. The experience that day was a game changer and Blair was curious to learn more, the sports psychologist suggested he learn about yoga.
Blair bought a book on yoga, watched his mothers Madonna yoga videos and dabbled with yoga throughout his twenties while travelling the world pursuing a career as a engine technician. It was another 15 years later that Blair arrived in Australia and walked into a yoga studio in Neutral Bay called Power Living.
Within 12 months he had completed the Power Living teaching training and was teaching 10 class a week in gyms and studios throughout Sydney. Over the next eight years Blair completed over 700 hours of yoga teaching training with Power Living, Simon Borg-Olivier, Baron Baptist and Cameron Shayne along with advanced workshops with influential teachers such as Richard Freeman, David Swanson, Les Leventhal, Kathryn Budig, Phillip Askew and many others.
During this time Blair also completed Exercise and Holistic Lifestyle coaching with the Chek Institute, San Diego and Performance & Results coaching with the Academy of Wealth and Achievement, Los Angeles.
Blair loves to learn and his teaching style embodies his own personal journey, incorporating the teachings and wisdoms of his many mentors from yogic and shamanic lineages. He continues to be mentored daily by Eileen Hall a student of both B.K.S Iyengar and Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.
His greatest passion is to share his journey and move people towards discovering their purpose and unveiling their gifts and talents. Blair’s classes are delivered in his very best West Highland Scottish accent. They’re challenging but fun and his intention is that you leave feeling grounded and empowered.
