Name: Asha Elliott
Role: Junior Facilitator
Asha first tried yoga 15 years ago. A natural ‘flexi’ it wasn’t until years later that she began to understand the importance of strength, as well flexibility in her asana practice. A few years ago Asha began to practice regularly which kick-started a change she had long toyed with. She quit drinking for three months, would run daily by the beach and practiced yoga which totally transformed her life. During that time Asha signed up to Power Living’s 200hr teacher training and she hasn’t looked back!
The training added a whole new dimension to what she thought she knew about yoga and Asha is now fascinated more by the philosophy of yoga than anything. The awareness of what holds her back in life has made Asha realise that we are all here to reach our full potential and shine bright. As Marianne Williamson said, “As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated by our own fear, our presence automatically liberated others.”
Getting to know the crew:
What is your favourite Asana posture? Why?
Half moon, I feel like I’m as close as I’ll ever be to a ballerina! I feel so much strength, yet so free.
What’s the best part of being in the Power Living community?
It feels like home. I often say to my friends, I just want to go and lie down in the room at Bondi and that would make me feel better.
What sound do you love?
