Consciousness Is Self – Siva Sutra

Which particular practices get you through hard times?

Although it may feel like the easiest thing to do is to avoid feeling, the only way back to Self is through allowing parts of me to feel the depth of what they are going through. To let the parts of me that are going through it know that I am strong enough to hold them and to love them. They have permission to feel and express themselves. And to also know that there is me, the Big Self, that is unconditional love, always. Ways of expression may be yoga, movement practice, ocean swims, connection to nature, creative practices, whatever feels like it gives me the permission to move stagnancy.

What are you most proud of in life?

I am proud of the way I have unravelled self-built boundaries and limitations. I have entered spaces and achieved things that my mind still can’t comprehend. I am proud of the way I keep exploring the edges of my intellectualised world and entering limitless potential over and over again. In this way, there is no particular thing I am proud of, just the way I have continued to explore and expand in worlds that have called me at that time.

How do you define a life well lived?

Knowing the depth of complexity of this earthly experience, but being able to root in the simple pleasures. Textures, colours, sensations, trees, water, flowers, food, the list is endless!
