Name: Laura Johnson
Laura Johnson first discovered the power of yoga when she was travelling and living abroad in the United States in 2009. It was in the crammed and heated studios in San Francisco and New York where Laura experienced a sense of home and community that inspired her to follow the path of teaching yoga.
In 2014, Laura moved from Perth to study power vinyasa with Powerliving. Now settled in Melbourne, Laura considers herself very fortunate to share yoga with others. Currently studying Osteopathy, Laura incorporates her knowledge of anatomy and human movement into her classes, while simultaneously encouraging creativity and play.
Getting to know the crew:
What is your favourite Asana posture? Why?
Downward facing dog. It’s a simple shape that often represents the beginning of a yoga practice. For me, it’s a place where I feel safe and at home. It also just feels great in my body!
Yoga has made me…
It has made me more courageous and willing to live with an open heart.
What sound do you love?
The sound of rolling OM’s chanted at the end of a class.
