Yin yoga is a style of yoga that has been steadily growing in stature and popularity in recent times. Vinyasa and power yoga classes still take up most space on studio timetables, but yin yoga classes are becoming a regular fixture too.
Yin yoga is a complementary practice to most people’s busy life. It’s valued for the slowness of the movement, the necessary self-inquiry, the meditative nature . All this lends itself to the change of pace most people need in the busy-ness of modern life.
The yin yoga teacher training courses at Power Living will give you the tools and certifications you need to confidently and intelligently teach yin yoga. Expect a blend of applied anatomy and physiology, mainly in relation to fascia and how it impacts/ informs movement in the body. Alongside this, you’ll learn Traditional Chinese Medicine principles, meridian theories and more.
Establish a solid, well-rounded foundation to your own practice and professional offering as a modern yoga teacher.
Our pathway offers 300 hours of specialised study, building on your 200-hour certification, to take you up to 500-hours accreditation.
These modules are crafted by internationally recognised facilitators with years of experience in their specific areas of expertise.
A fun and fascinating forum where you learn the anatomical complexities of the body to powerfully shift the way you teach.
For 200hr qualified teachers and experienced intermediate students (by application only) to deepen their practice / teaching skills.

No, you can choose the courses that fit your life schedule, budget and specific interest. We present all of our advanced teacher training material in a modular format to make it easier for you to pick the best course and pathway for you!
All teacher trainees must complete all three courses modules outlined above. The program has been designed specifically to meet the Yoga Alliance and Yoga Australia 200-hour teacher training requirements. Missing out on a course component or not completing it in time would mean you have not completed the required number of contact hours and areas of study and will not gain full 200-hour certification.
Having 500-hour certification shows potential employers that you take your education seriously! Studying on our 500-hour pathway will provide you with opportunities to deepen your study of yoga that a well-rounded teacher needs on their CV.
Yes! Many of our 500-hour level courses require 200-hour certification as a pre-requisite but we welcome students from any yoga education training program.
Occasionally we open some of these programs up to all students, depending on the content of the course. If the course has a 200-hour prerequisite, it will be clearly noted on the website and all marketing material. And only 200-hour qualified teachers are able to gain hours of accreditation for completing the course.
Our 500-hour pathway programs require a $1,000 deposit for any programs over $1,000. All remaining course fees must be paid six weeks before the start date of the program. We don’t offer payment plans for our 500-hour programs. All programs under $1,000 require payment in full at the time of registration.
“Truth was very knowledgeable. The delivered the information with warmth and was very easy to listen to. I loved the way he wove the Tao into the course. I notice it flowing out of me as I teach. I’m so happy I chose this training. I got so much out of it.”
“The Power Living Retreat is an amazing opportunity to put Yoga theory into practice in a safe and supportive environment. I experienced challenging asana practice, discovered things about myself I may not have otherwise ever uncovered, learned strategies to work through the highs and lows of life, and made some friends I hope to keep forever. Without trying to be dramatic, this retreat rebuilt my faith in humanity, which was seriously waning in these challenging times. I danced, I laughed, I cried, and I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. Thanks to the Power Living team for creating such an amazing and supportive environment and bringing us together.”
“Great course content as a foundational training into the practice of Yin Yoga. Teaching environment was relaxed yet with a clear structure. All elements were addressed and there was enough information and practical experience to feel confident about teaching a simple beginners Yin class. Not too overwhelming in information, but a very full and varied course from beginning to end.”
The practice of yoga works at a physical, mental and emotional level & may be rewarding and challenging. We invite you to take care and participate to a level that you feel most comfortable.
