ABOUT THE IMMERSION
Open to teachers on their 500hr pathway as well as dedicated students with a sincere interest in yin yoga.
This training is your gateway to exploring Traditional Chinese Medicine and yin yoga. Yin is continuing to grow in popularity and this training will establish the fundamentals of the practice and enable you to directly impact your personal practice and the lives of the students you teach. This immersion is all about slowing down, escaping your normal routine and creating space within.
This immersion is an introduction to applied anatomy and physiology, with a focus on understanding fascia and how this type of tissue works in the body. Start to understand Traditional Chinese Medicine and the basic meridian pathways, plus pranayama techniques designed to provide greater insight into The Self. You will not be the same teacher/student afterwards!
The immersion forms part of the 500hr teacher training pathway. If you are a 200hr qualified yoga teacher the program will hone your teaching skills to become a masterful yin yoga facilitator.
Students who complete 100% attendance will be awarded 30hrs towards gaining an Advanced 300hr training certified by Yoga Alliance + 30hrs towards certification with Yoga Australia. Only 200hr qualified Teachers will gain the certification but any student can participate in the training.
Truth has been with Power Living for six years and is our resident Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Doctor. Growing up with a father who was a keen Buddhist meditator, Truth was inspired to undertake his first of many silent meditation retreats in 2001. The stillness he discovered created a conscious shift in all aspects of his life which was the start of his yoga journey.
Truth studied Ashtanga Yoga (Pattabhi Jois, India) in Brighton and Edinburgh in the UK and then spent significant time over the next few years studying Agama Tantric Yoga (Thailand), Sivananda Yoga (India)and Iyengar Yoga (India). He finally settled in Satyananda Yoga of the Bihar School of Yoga, the world’s first Yoga University based in Munger, India, started by Sw. Satyananda a foremost disciple of Sw. Sivananda.
Truth formally completed a two year and 1,500+ hour Diploma of Satyananda Yoga Teaching, which delved deeply into pranayama, chanting, bhandas, meditation and philosophy. After teaching for a few years, he was inspired to shift to the healing arts and in 2014 completed a degree to become a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Since graduating he has become a registered and practicing Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist.
Truth’s educational journey has culminated in a passion for teaching Yin Yoga and he has completed extensive teacher training with Jo Phee (a former student of Paul Grilley) and Sarah Powers. Through this training and along with his study with Dr. Wang (China) and Dr. Robertson (USA), Truth has developed a unique style of Yin Yoga theory based on the Huang Di Nei JIng (Yellow Emperors Classic).
Truth’s teaching will leave you feeling energised and inspired to make significant changes mentally and physically in your life.
