200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Pathways
Come to learn, more importantly, come to transform.
We commit to supporting your personal development as much as deepening your practice. That’s why we’ve seen our graduates go on to change lives in their communities as well as on an interpersonal level.
You’ll graduate understanding the importance of nurturing mobility, as well as flexibility, and how to share that knowledge with others. You'll know and embody the Power Living Methodology - leading the way in Modern Yoga.
With our reputable accreditation, many of our graduates have been able to quit their corporate jobs to become renowned yoga teachers forging their own path, or working for Power Living studios or other top studios internationally.
As Australia’s leading yoga teacher training providers, we set the bar high over a decade ago. Well, a lot changes in a year, let alone ten, and our training mirrors that. You benefit directly from the continuous and consistent training our Senior Facilitation crew invest in. We stay at the forefront of modern yoga, functional vinyasa, modern movement and leadership skills and you graduate with the best current knowledge and skills available to you.
This is our biggest revamp of the curriculum to date and, we promise you, it’s evolutionary and revolutionary. Time to get excited!
Join us at our next 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Info Session. We’ll kick things off with a rocking Vinyasa class so you can experience first-hand the power of the practice, then jump into the info session where we’ll explore the nitty gritty and what you’ll really get from the program.
Can’t find one in your area? Email email@example.com for more information.
As a part of your tuition, you will receive a free student membership to Yoga Australia, giving you access to free workshops, discounts on teaching insurance and other great benefits you’ll love!
If you are looking to teach straight after you graduate, we have partnered with the Buddee Fitness App, which connects you to private and corporate clients. Your first two months of fees will be waived!
After you graduate, Power Living offers an opportunity for students within the program to teach community classes at our studios for 4-week blocks. Real studio experience in the place where your transformation occurs!
Get to know the foundations of yoga philosophy and the Power Living teaching methodology. Learn the techniques and principles that make a Power Living teacher world-class. Understand the ancient roots and the modern evolution of vinyasa yoga. Integrate functional movement principles to support long-term mobility, strength and flexibility for you and your students.
Spend one week in beautiful Bali with your Power Living Educators. This retreat includes daily practice and workshops to help break down your preexisting beliefs and push through negative thought patterns so that you uncover the best person and teacher you truly are.
*Only available on the 200 hour part-time course.
Part of being a great yoga teacher that sets you apart from the rest is being able to understand and work with your students’ individual practices. During this module, you’ll learn the art of assisting so that you can feel confident in catering to each unique body.
To graduate from the 200 hour program there will be a practical and a written assessment.
We recommend a minimum of six months’ dedicated vinyasa yoga practice before enrolling in the course. If your background is in a style other than this, we recommend you have a minimum of one year’s dedicated personal practice before applying, plus some experience of vinyasa yoga. If you haven’t done vinyasa before, we recommend trying out some classes in one of our studios to make sure it’s the right fit for you.
All teacher trainees must complete all three courses modules outlined above. The program has been designed specifically to meet the Yoga Alliance and Yoga Australia 200-hour teacher training requirements. Missing out on a course component or not completing it in time would mean you have not completed the required number of contact hours and areas of study and will not gain full 200-hour certification.
We strongly recommend you only enrol in a program you are able to complete in the allotted timeframes. Under rare circumstances, you may be able to complete Module 2 (Retreat Immersion) or Module Three (Assisting Program) with anther intake after you have completed Module One (Core Program: Laying the Foundations), less the examinations. These modules must be completed within one calendar year. Any requests to complete these modules outside the scheduled timetable will be considered on a case-by-case basis. For the best possible results, stick to the dates provided in the program overview.
We offer two pathways for our 200-hour yoga teacher training – part time (3-months of study) and our One Month Intensive program. The One Month Intensive is perfect if you are travelling from overseas or are keen to complete the program in a shorter time frame. Please note that we are not a Registered Training Organisation and cannot participate in arranging any visas, but anyone visiting Australia on a valid visa is able to participate in a program with Power Living.
The course fee includes your Power Living Training manual, all lectures and classes, plus your accommodation and meals during the Retreat Immersion.
Studio membership to practice at Power Living is not included in the tuition cost. If you are not already a member, you can purchase a membership or a casual pass for the duration of the course should you wish to practice at our studios.
The only additional expenses are the two text books (recommended), which can be purchased through Power Living and your travel to and from the Retreat Immersion.
The practice of yoga works at a physical, mental and emotional level & may be rewarding and challenging. We invite you to take care and participate to a level that you feel most comfortable.
